NOTD: Essie - Mint Candy Apple

Today's Nail of the Day is an oldie but a goodie!
For the past couple of years Essie's Mint Candy Apple has been a staple in every beauty blogger's nail polish stash.

Mint Candy Apple is a gorgeous pastel mint shade. I picked it for today's post because I find it a very versatile colour. With the weather still not making up its mind, I don't want to be wearing too dark or too bright a colour on my nails. This is perfect for any season.

I have to apply 2-3 coats to make this fully opaque. You have to work quite slowly with this polish - like most Essie polishes - to allow each layer to dry. It can be very time consuming so this isn't a colour you can just throw on 5 minutes before running out the door.

I always find polishes wear better on shorter nails. You can see my nails are pretty short right no so I'll get about 5 days out of this manicure with a couple of chips along the way. I find it chips off so badly when my nails are long.

Essie have one of my favourite brushes with their polishes.

They're not so thin that you need 5 strokes to get across your nails nor are they so thick they'll paint your fingers.

Do you have this nail polish?

What have you got on your nails right now? :)

  2. This is one of my favourites - think it kick started the whole mint thing for me! The brushes definitely make painting your nails easy. I'm wearing the Barry M pastel Gelly polishes (all 3 of them!) because I could not choose haha!
