NYX Matte Lipstick Review

I picked up a couple of NYX Matte Lipsticks a couple of weeks ago and I loved them so much, I went out and got more.

The colour range of these lipsticks is amazing. They have everything from bright red to complete nude.

I really love a bold, matte lip and with these lipsticks it's so easy to achieve an effortless, non drying bold matte lip.

I have the shades Bloody Mary, Merlot, Tea Rose and Sweet Pink.

All of the lipsticks have a creamy formula that applies smoothly.
They don't last all day, coming off when you eat but they're effortless to apply so it's really not a problem.

Bloody Mary

This is an intense vibrant red shade. Out of the four shades I have, Bloody Mary is the hardest to work with.
Like the others, it's extremely creamy but a little too much so. I find it can go outside the lipline very easily and end up rather messy. I find I need to apply a layer, blot and apply another layer to get this looking like I didn't allow a 5 year old to do my makeup.
This photo was taken directly after application so it's still a little glossy but you'll see in the following pictures, the other lipsticks have an almost instant matte effect.

Merlot

I bought Merlot in my NYX Haul and I absolutely love it!
It's the perfect berry lip for Autumn and I just know I'll be wearing this almost every day once it gets properly cold.

Tea Rose

This is the perfect nude pink shade. I've worn it every time I've done my makeup since I got it. It's so flattering and unlike most of my lip products, quite a neutral colour. I see this lipstick and I think of floral print china and curly blonde haired little girls. (That sounds so much creepier than I intended...)

Sweet Pink

This is another lipstick from my NYX Haul. Sweet Pink is a vibrant pink shade that will be perfect for warmer months. That won't stop me from using it during the winter though!

I really can't get enough of these matte lipsticks. The last thing I need is to add to my lip product collection but these just call my name every time I see them.

NYX Matte Lipsticks retail for €7.49 in Sam McCauley's and other stores nationwide.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? What did you think of them?

Thanks for reading :)

    1. No they don’t bleed at all! I know it looks it in the pictures but that was just my bad application back then haha. You can use a lip liner first to keep them neat :)
