NOTD: Maybelline Super Stay in Pink Volt

With the weather quickly changing, I decided I should get at least one bright nail colour in before it becomes a complete autumnal Halloween wonderland outside.

Today's NOTD is a Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days Gel Nail Polish in the shade Pink Volt.

I've actually got a full post on this and another shade called Divine Wine coming tomorrow so I won't go into much detail in this post.

This is a long lasting gel effect polish that gives a high shine finish. I've actually managed 5 days out of this without chipping on more than one occasion.
Pink Volt is a bright pink that adds a really nice pop of colour to your finger tips.
This is a very pigmented polish. I have two coats on in the picture above and for some reason you can see the free edge/whites of my nails very clearly. It's actually opaque in real life though.

I absolutely love these Super Stay polishes and plan on getting a lot more of them!

If you'd like to read a full review on the Maybelline Super Stay polishes, stop by tomorrow and I'll have a post up.
Thanks for reading :)

NOTD - Barry M Bikini

If you checked out my Posting Schedule, you'll know from today on, every Wednesday will be a NOTD or Nail of the Day post.
For my first NOTD post, I decided on a plain manicure using a Barry M polish in the shade Bikini.

This is a limited edition colour that I picked up in my Belfast Haul. If you can find it in your local Boots then definitely get it!
This polish reminds me so much of Barry M Blueberry because sometimes it looks blue, other times it looks lilac yet somehow it has an overall blue tone.
This is a Nail Paint so it doesn't have the same intense shine as a Barry M Gelly but it still gives a nice sheen.
It requires two coats most of the time but for some reason the free edges of my nails are looking very white at the moment so I did need three coats on a couple of nails in the picture above.

If you aren't familiar with Barry M polishes, the brushes are quite thin but dense and hold a lot of polish.

As usual, I used Barry M's Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener before and after applying my polish.

If you have any nail polish brands or colours you think I should try for an upcoming NOTD do let me know in the comments! (like I need more nail polish?!)

Thanks so much for reading, see you tomorrow! :)
