What's On My Face: Spring Editition

Despite today's weather, it's officially Spring which means saying goodbye to berry lips and matte complexions.
Over the past couple of weeks, I've been changing up my makeup routine to fit in with the slightly nicer weather.

Right now I'm using the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in the shade 103 True Ivory. I mentioned this in my 2013 Favourites and I'm still loving it. It's a light to medium coverage with an SPF18. It buffs into the skin easily and leaves your skin looking fresh and slightly dewy.

To cover up my dark circles, I've been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in the shade 40 Soft Beige. This has light reflecting pigments in it to really brighten the area without looking sparkly. It isn't a heavy coverage concealer but with a couple of layers it does the job and I look less like the dead host of a brain eating alien.

I like to set it all using the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in the shade Transparent 001.

I use the darkest shade in the Gosh Brow Kit on my eyebrows. I love this stuff as it lasts all day and is so easy to apply with an angled brush.

For blusher, I use the Essence Silky Touch Blush in the shade 10 Adorable. This is a lovely rosey pink shade and gives the perfect flush of colour for a natural, healthy look.

If I'm wearing eyeshaddow, I'll keep it quite basic sticking with champagne, golden and taupe shades.
Most days I just like to define my lashes with a couple of coats of Maybeline The Falsies Mascara and leave it at that.

One of my favourite things to do is highlight. I use the MeMeMe Beat the Blues Highlighter in the shade Pearl Pink. This is a perfect dupe for Benefit's High Beam but at a much more reasonable price. I dab this along my cheek bones, along the brow bone and over my cupid's bow. I think this is my favourite step in my makeup routine as it just makes me look so much more awake and healthy and brings everything together nicely.

I finish off with either a clear lipbalm or a sweep of the Essence XXL Shine Lipgloss which you can see a full review of here.

This is really simple and very quick to do and can be jazzed up with a bit of gel liner for an easy day look.

Have you embraced the soft pinks and neutrals of Spring?

Let me know if you like or dislike any of the products I listed here.

Thanks for reading. :)
