Dublin Haul - Lush and Makeup

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that I made a trip to Dublin on Wednesday, I also warned that there'd be a Lush haul so here you go!

I'll start with makeup because I only got a couple of things.

First of all, I stopped by the Wet n Wild stand in Dunnes.

I remembered Everyday Unicorn mentioned she picked up a MegaLast lipstick in the shade Sugar Plum Fairy so I knew I was on the look out for that.
I also ended up picking up the ColorIcon Lip Liner in Fab Fuchsia.

Next - and the most exciting item - I bought the Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette!

I won't talk about this too much because I want to do a full post on it next week.

LOOK AT THEM

I love Pulp Fiction and I was so excited when this came out. I wasn't sure if I was going to get it until I swatched it. These eyeshadows are incredibly buttery and not chalky as well as being highly pigmented. I don't really expect anything less from Urban Decay though. (more on this in a few days!)

I was given some Primer Potion samples in rather inconvenient sachets too.

I also picked up a really cute fedora in Penneys for €8. I've had a bit of a hat obsession recently.

Last but not least, I picked up a few things in Lush.

I got a couple of regular bath bombs as well as a few of the seasonal items.

Blackberry Bath Bomb - I got two of these because they're my favourite. Here's a full review.

Big Blue Bath Bomb - Packed with little pieces of seaweed, this is a great muscle soother and it turns your bath water a magnificent blue colour.

Twilight Bath Bomb - I've never tried this but I've been meaning to pick it up for months. This is a great bath bomb for before bed as it contains lavender and other aromatherapy scents.

Butterbear Bath Bomb - Butterball is one of my favourite bath bombs and this seasonal little guy is both cheaper and cuter so why not get it? This is great for dry skin as it's packed with cocoa butter and Ylang Ylang oil. It only has a very faint smell from the cocoa butter. It's also meant to help with depression and panic and you guys know I'm all about that.

Holly Golightly Bubble Bar - This is a new release this year. Covered in silver glitter and weighing as much as a small child, I already love this bubble bar. This smells like Christmas. No other way to describe it.

Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb - This smells like Snow Fairy but it's so muted it doesn't make me feel nauseous. If you like Snow Fairy but find it a little too much, give this a try! If you aren't familiar with Snow Fairy, it's a very sweet, pink scent like cotton candy and... pink.

Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar - This was the item I was most looking forward to getting. If you've known me for more than 5 seconds, you'll know Halloween is my favourite thing ever. This little pumpkin is covered in gold glitter and smells of "juniper, lime and grapefruit". To me, it smells very Autumnal and spicy.

 LOOK AT THAT SPARKLE

That's everything, well done if you managed to make it to the end and I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got!

Let me know if you have any of the things I bought or if you want to try them!

Thanks for reading :)

Oriflame The ONE Nail Shield

Lately, my nails have been so brittle again. Admittedly, I've not been following my oil regime so I can understand why they're struggling.
When Anita let me pick an item from the Oriflame The ONE Care collection, I picked the Nail Shield*

I've had both great and awful experiences with nail strengtheners so I wasn't really sure what I was expecting.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and I can honestly say I've noticed my nails are feeling stronger, less bendy and there's no peeling in sight.
I actually managed to damaged the nail bed of my right thumb nail so I've been really struggling to get the nail to grow, not snap off and to stop breaking really low down. I can't say this has fixed it, but it has really helped the left side of my nail to get back to a good condition and not keep flaking away.

The formula itself is about as thick as a normal nail polish and leaves a slightly creamy colour on your nails, which I quite like. It's very easy to apply and dries very quickly.

The brush is a good size, not too big, not too small and it picks up a good amount of product.

It's still early days but overall, I'm really pleased with The ONE Nail Shield and it's going to stay part of my nail care routine for quite a while!
It retails at €6.85 for an 8ml bottle and can be purchased online or through an Oriflame salesperson. Each item in The ONE Care collection is €6.85 and can be found here.

Let me know if you use a nail strengthener or if you're blessed with strong nails.

NOTD: Maybelline Super Stay - Divine Wine

Back when I reviewed this polish, I think I said that I could see myself wearing it constantly throughout the colder months. Past me was right, I have been using this almost exclusively for the past three weeks.

Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days Gel Nail Color in Divine Wine is the perfect Autumn nail colour.

I love burgundy accessories from scarves to boots and having matching burgundy nails makes me very happy.

The polish stays on for around four to five days without a top coat but definitely not seven days.
It gives a lovely high shine finish, I wouldn't call it a gel effect though.

I'm probably half way through the bottle at this stage and I can see myself repurchasing this before the winter is out!

What's your favourite Autumn nail colour?

Top Autumn/Winter Lip Picks

It's no secret that I love a bold lip. I really love going for a much darker berry or deep red lip in the colder months.
I know a lot of people are really nervous about wearing a dark or bold lip colour but the Autumn and Winter months are the perfect time to try it out! Hopefully this post will give you a little idea of where to start.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer in Across the Universe

Apocalips Lip Laquers are one of my favourite lip products. They apply like a lip gloss and are very easy to work with but after  half an hour or so, they dry in leaving a fairly matte finish.

Across the Universe is a bright, bold red which is perfect for brightening up a basic daily makeup look.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer in Eclipse

Eclipse is a much bolder, purple shade. It's quite a draining colour so you really have to balance your complexion out with blush and bronzer. This is one of my favourite lip colours but it's definitely not a shade to go for if you're not comfortable with darker lips.

MAC - Amorous

This is only a recent addition to the collection but I love it like I've been using it for years.

I just adore the colour of this lipstick. It reminds me of a darker version of NYX Tea Rose. This is a Satin lipstick so it's matte but very moisturising and creamy - much like NYX Matte Lipsticks.

Is this not the perfect Autumn lip colour?!

NYX Matte Lipstick in Tea Rose

This has made quite a few appearances on the blog recently and for many good reasons.

This is such an easy to wear nudey, purpley, pink (thank goodness for visual aids)

It's extremely easy to wear and is suitable for all year round but I think it looks really nice with winged eyeliner when you're all wrapped up in a coat and scarf.

NYX Matte Lipstick in Merlot

I have such love for this lipstick. It's another reddish shade but you can't have too many dark red lipsticks.

It looks a lot darker in real life, unless my display is amped up a little too high. Either way, it's a perfect lipstick for this time of year.

(I had to use old photos of my NYX lipsticks on my lips or I would have been left with no lips after 5 colour changes)

 Rimmel Kate Moss 107

This dark red matte lipstick has a bit of a cult following. Last year it was EVERYWHERE. You couldn't click into a post without seeing it mentioned.

It's very long wearing but a little drying. The lady who helped me out in MAC the other day though I was wearing the lipstick Diva so I guess it might be a little dupey?..

It actually looks a little darker in real life but it's definitely a red as opposed to a purple tone.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Frambourjoise

This is still a bold lip colour but not as dark as most of the ones I've mentioned. If you want a really easy to wear off-red, you should give this a try.

Rouge Edition Velvets are liquid lipsticks so they apply like a gloss then set like a matte lipstick. You have to work very carefully with them because any product that goes outside the lines, stays outside the lines.

This is another very long wearing colour but it is slightly drying. I find you have to apply it in one good layer rather than dip the applicator back into the bottle and pop on another layer or it gets a little chunky on the lips which feels very uncomfortable.

I hope you enjoyed this post and it's given you some lipstick inspiration! :)

Blogger of the Week

TR's Thoughts is one of my favourite beauty blogs and the girl behind the blog is this week's Blogger of the Week!

I've been following TR's blog for quite a while. (formally known as "A Muslimah's Little Blog")

Even though she's in full time education, she puts a lot of work into her blog. She's only been posting for a few months but she's like a total pro at this stage.

Most of the posts you'll find on TR's Thoughts are beauty reviews, recommendations and hauls but there's the occasional lifestyle post too.

You can find her blog on Bloglovin' and also follow her on Twitter and Instagram. I'd definitely advise popping over to her blog if you're on the lookout for new blogs to follow!

Feel free to leave your links in the comments if you want me to visit your blog! :)

Teeny Tiny Blogging Break

I need to take a very small blogging break. By very small, I mean posts will resume as normal on Monday but I'm just going to put things on hold until then.

I'm just feeling a little out of sorts and want to get myself back to normal so I can actually enjoy posting.

I hope you guys don't mind, I'll see you in a few days! :)

NOTD: Barry M - Grey

Another, Wednesday, another Barry M polish.

Today's NOTD is a Barry M Nail Paint in the colour Grey.

Nail Paints aren't as shiny as the Gelly polishes but they give the standard nail polish shine.

Unlike Pomegranate, this polish requires at least two coats. The first coat goes on so thinly that it looks like one of those polishes you got in makeup sets when you were little. Once the second coat goes on though, everything is rectified. If you load up the brush for your second coat, you won't need a third but if you use very thin layers, you might need three.

This is such a good Autumn colour because it goes so well with green, burgundy and brown.

This lasts around four days with a top coat. If you're gentle with your nails it might last a bit longer.

Let me know if you have this colour or something similar.

Thanks for reading! :)
